Free Rides Help Expectant Mothers Access Care in South Florida
Miami, FL — A new partnership between Green Cars for Kids, Freebee, and local hospitals is breaking down transportation barriers for pregnant women in South Florida.
The program provides free, on-demand rides in electric vehicles for expectant mothers, new moms, and children needing non-emergency care. Patients can be picked up anywhere in South Florida and taken directly to appointments at Jackson Health or Broward Health facilities.

For mothers like Marie Odvil, who faced nearly $100 a week in Uber costs for prenatal visits, the service has been a lifeline. Others, like Ana Anasjevic in Broward, say the free rides eased the financial burden of late pregnancy while ensuring they never missed an appointment.
Equipped with car seats and educational iPads, the vehicles do more than deliver patients—they provide comfort, safety, and critical resources. With thousands of trips already completed, the initiative is helping to reduce preventable complications and improve maternal and infant health outcomes in the region.
