Freebee Launches in Deerfield Beach — A Sustainable, On-Demand Way to Explore
Deerfield Beach, FL — On March 14, 2024, the Deerfield Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) officially rolled out Freebee’s new rideshare service in the CRA District, marking a forward-looking leap in sustainable local transit. The ribbon-cutting event took place at the Main Beach Parking Lot and signaled the start of free, on-demand electric rides for residents and visitors.

Presented as a convenient and eco-conscious alternative to driving, Freebee deploys electric Tesla vehicles to ferry passengers between any home or hotel in Deerfield Beach and businesses within the CRA District. Riders can schedule both outbound and return trips through the Freebee app—though service to and from the Cove is not available. For now, the service operates in a pilot mode on select days and hours, initially running Thursday through Sunday from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.—with future schedules subject to community needs and feedback.

This initiative complements Deerfield Beach's broader redevelopment strategy. By offering an attractive alternative to single-occupant driving, the service aims to ease traffic congestion, reduce parking demand, and support businesses across the district. Local storefronts can also engage with riders directly via promotional offerings featured within the app.
